What are cookies?

Cookies are files that can be downloaded to your device through web pages. They are tools that play an essential role in the provision of numerous information society services. Finally, there is a further classification into six types of cookie according to the purpose for which the data obtained are processed:

  • Personalisation cookies: those that allow the user to access the service with certain general characteristics predefined on the basis of a set of criteria on the user’s terminal, such as the language, the type of browser through which the service is accessed, the regional configuration from which the service is accessed, and so on.
  • Analysis cookies: those that allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of users of the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of the websites, applications or platforms and to build browsing profiles of the users of those sites, applications and platforms, in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of usage data.
  • Advertising cookies: those that allow the management, in the most effective way possible, of advertising spaces.
  • Behavioural advertising cookies: those that store information on user behaviour obtained through the continued observation of their browsing habits, making it possible to develop a specific profile in order to display advertising based on it.
  • External social network cookies: those used so that visitors can interact with the content of different social platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and which are generated solely for the users of those social networks. The conditions of use of these cookies and the information collected are governed by the privacy policy of the corresponding social platform.

Disabling and deleting cookies

You have the option of allowing, blocking or deleting the cookies installed on your device by configuring the options of the browser installed on it.
